We recently welcomed Samphire Sauna to the shores by Port for guests and locals to try out a wood-fired sauna experience designed to help you relax, connect with the stunning coastal surroundings and benefit from the healing properties of heat and cold-water therapy.
Embracing the new-wave wellness movement being seen across the south coast, Port X Samphire Sauna is the first beachside sauna to come to Eastbourne. Mobile saunas are proving increasingly popular as an easy, inexpensive way to destress, detox and detach from life’s pressures.
This sauna experience offers 30-minute or 1-hour sessions in Samphire Sauna’s Nordic-inspired wood-fired sauna, allowing guests to relax and unwind in the steamy heat of the sauna, before plunging themselves into an invigorating sea-water dunk.

“ There is just something very special about sitting in a wooden sauna cabin, with heat radiating from a wood-fired stove, and then when you're hot enough, running into the cold sea spray only a few meters away to cool off - it's completely elemental (and exhilarating!).
So, we're delighted to be bringing the Samphire Sauna experience to both Port guests and to the wider Eastbourne community (hello especially to all you sea swimmers) in one of our natural habitats - the glorious coast of East Sussex!”
What it costs
Accommodating up to 5 people at a time, the sessions will be priced at:
£10 pp for 30 minute taster session
£18 pp for 1 hour
With the option of a post-sauna brunch at Port for an extra £16 per person

The experience will run for 5 hours from 10.00am - 3.00pm

Location
The Sauna will be located to the left of Port on the beach.
Please arrive promptly for your booked slot.
If you have any issues locating the Sauna please pop into Port to be pointed in the right direction.
What to bring?
Swimming gear
Two towels (one for use in the sauna and one for drying off after)
A water bottle (you’ll want plenty of water to rehydrate)
Flip flops or equivalent (for getting to & from the changing room/ chill out area)
There is a basic changing facility available on the sauna site
Please note that the Samphire Sauna experience has a qualified sauna attendant on hand to brief you on how to safely use the sauna before a sauna session, and to ensure that the sauna is cleaned effectively before and after each session
Are kids allowed?
Only children above 7 years old are allowed to use the sauna.
An adult guardian must accompany all minors (up to the age of 16) on a 1:1 ratio.
What about sustainability?
Samphire Sauna are committed to being as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible by only using locally sourced kiln-dried wood for the sauna stove (kiln-dried produces less smoke). They use rechargeable LED lighting, and will only partner with companies that have the same environmental and ethical values as them wherever possible.

Please note that cancellations can be made up to seven days before the event.
Thereafter refunds cannot be given.
